Take a look at some of my previous projects.
Note that most of these are university group projects and therefore visual material is not always made by me, some visual material is made by another member of the project group.

Master's thesis - Disabled Design Quest
The goal of this thesis project was to increase the creative confidence in making and hacking of disabled people so they could partake in the maker movement and create their own custom assistive technology (AT). Two participant activities were conducted: 1. An exploratory hacking activity by disabled people to design for justice where the participants hacked small household appliances. 2. A creative learning activity where disabled people used the Disabled Design Quest (DDQ) prototype, with a pre- and post-use interview and diary study. The results from Activity 1 were used to ideate a toolkit made of a disabled community-led platform to learn about different types of making, and this was then further conceptualized and prototyped into the DDQ website.

Diversity, representation, and inclusion of physically disabled people within HRI SAR research
The goal of this literature review is to gain insight into the diversity, representation, and inclusion of physically disabled people in HRI SAR research. What is the level to which disabled people are involved in the research and what factors contribute to successful involvement of disabled people in research? First some background information is presented about disability; the social and medical model are explained. Then an overview of current AT within HRI is presented categorized in mobility assistance, manipulation assistance and sensory assistance. Disability studies and crip technoscience and feminist theories are also discussed to give some background to the foundations of the research.

Accessible medication packaging - Universal design of child resistant packaging for orally ingestable liquid medication
Many people with disabilities of arm, shoulder and hands (DASH) cannot open their own medication. In case of rheuma, 64% of the users need help from their partner or carer. The problem is even bigger when considering child resistant packaging. 74% of users with rheuma have a difficulty opening (cleaning) packaging with child resistant closures. At the moment the University of Twente is working together with ReumaNederland on the design and production of medication packaging that can be easily opened by users with DASH. However, there is currently no accessible design for (orally ingested liquid) medication packaging with child resistant closures.

Sustainable delicate fruit packaging for Picnic
We had to create a sustainable packaging for delicate fruits like rasberries, blueberries or red berries. The assignment was for Picnic (the online groceriestore) and had to fit in with their branding, it had to seamlessly fit into their existing product line. So we created this packaging made out of areca palm leaves that are biodegradable and are an argicultural wasteproduct, with a paper label made out of paperwise paper (made from argicultural waste). We delivered a sustainable packaging solution that keeps the fruit save and fresh until delivery.

Experience Design for Interaction
For the course Experience Design for Interaction we had to design a playground add on based on interaction. The design includes several buttons that can be used in 3 different game modes: “Team vs Team, Time attack and Free mode”. These 3 modes support different types of play, namely collaborative play, competitive play and free play.

Create the Future (HealThyself)
For the course Create the future we had to design a product for the healthcare of 2052. The design includes a biosensor that is implanted under the skin that can measure your vitamin and mineral levels at all times. If you have a deficiency, pods will be ordered and delivered to your home, you click this pod onto the tip of the biosensor, the connection point and your deficiency will get better.

Integrative Design of Biomedical Products
For the course Integrative Design of Biomedical products we had to design an objective measurement device for shoulder laxity. We designed a system that works together with an ultra-sound machine for measuring the displacement and a electro-motor for putting the needed load on the shoulder.

Scenario Based Product Design (Creativibee)
For the project Scenario Based Product Design we had to design something for a specific context, we chose hospitalized children. We used scenarios along the way to get a good grip on the problem and solution space. Our final design is a grid wall with hexagonal plastic tiles that can be connect to each other in different ways, similair to legos.

Design of persuasive health technology (NIPIA)
Designing an intervention for problematic gaming behaviour. The nipia app, for tracking gaming behviour, offering suggestions for other activities and the option of adding a journal entry to reflect on behaviour. Grounded in psychology research and theories of behaviour change.

Pukka packaging re-design
How can a packaging be new but still fit with the brand identity? In this project I explore this together with all parts of packaging, including cost and distribution.

Stimulating creativity @Demcon
This assignment is a research and design project on stimulating creativity at Demcon. Literature research was executed on creativity, its background and various forms and ways to stimulate it. Interviews were held to sketch the current situation at Demcon. From all of this a virtual toolkit was designed with a physical element in the form of a creativity box.
